After seeing the need for accessible ear wax removal services in our community—especially as many GPs can’t offer this unless there’s a clinical need—I founded Cheshire Ears. Along with my background in social care, where I support older adults in staying safe and comfortable at home, I recognized the importance of providing this essential service locally.

When ear wax accumulates excessively, it can block the ear canal, leading to temporary hearing difficulties. This condition is known as cerumen impaction. The buildup of wax prevents sound waves from reaching the eardrum effectively, which can result in a reduction in hearing ability. Regular, gentle cleaning can help prevent this problem, but it's important to avoid using cotton swabs or other objects that might push the wax further in. Our team is thoroughly trained in these methods to ensure optimal care and customer satisfaction. We are fully insured, providing peace of mind for our clients. Additionally, we bring prior experience in health and social care, further enhancing our capability to offer professional and empathetic service. However, it is important to note that Cheshire Ears is not qualified to identify and assess hearing and balance functions or diagnose associated disorders; such tasks are within the scope of Audiologists, a qualification we do not possess.

How can I reschedule or cancel my appointment with Cheshire Ears?We understand that sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled or cancelled. At Cheshire Ears, we have made this process straightforward for you. If you wish to rearrange your appointment and it is more than 48 hours before your scheduled time, you can easily do so either through our booking system or by contacting us directly by phone. If you need to cancel more than 48 hours in advance, we will refund your consultation fee. Please allow up to 5 working days for the refund to be processed and appear in your bank account. If you need to cancel your appointment less than 48 hours in advance, your consultation fee is non-refundable. However, please reach out to us, and we will make every effort to transfer this fee to another appointment, subject to Cheshire Ears' discretion.

Does Cheshire Ears offer group bookings?Yes, Cheshire Ears is pleased to offer group bookings for home visits, provided that all members of the group are at the same location. Additionally, we are able to offer these group services at a discounted rate. For more information and to arrange a group booking, please contact us.

What are the fees associated with an ear consultation and treatment at Cheshire Ears?At Cheshire Ears, all appointments require a consultation fee of £20, which is payable upon booking. During this consultation, if wax removal is deemed necessary, there is an additional treatment fee of £40. This treatment fee is due at the time of the appointment and can be paid by card or cash; we kindly request that you avoid using cheques as a method of payment.
